Manoa Energy is a developer of Grid Scale Battery Energy Storage Systems in Japan
Manoa Energy is a developer and operator of High Voltage Battery Energy Storage Systems in Japan, with a diversified pipeline of projects across the development cycle.
Manoa develops a diversified pipeline of high-voltage Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across Japan, supporting the country's energy transition and grid modernization.
Project Helios in Hokkaido marks a key milestone: a 50 MW / 2-hour standalone grid-scale BESS that achieved commercial operation in December 2025, positioning it among Japan's earliest battery energy storage projects.
Manoa's parent entity Brawn Capital is a Hong Kong-based energy transition private equity infrastructure firm founded in 2015. Brawn is a platform investor in the development and construction of cutting-edge decarbonized data centers in targeted APAC markets, as well as an owner and asset manager of Grid Scale Battery Energy Storage Systems in Japan. Brawn has previously developed renewable energy projects across APAC including 180 MW of solar projects in Japan, and a further 60 MW of solar projects in the greater Asia Pacific region.
Manoa's sister company, Brawn Energy, specializes in the development of Extra High Voltage (EHV) BESS projects in Japan.
