Project Mooka, Manoa Energy, BESS project, Japan

Overview

This is a pre-Ready-to-Build (pre-RTB) Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project located in Japan, with a planned capacity of 50 MW / 100 MWh. The project is currently in the development phase, with permitting and technical preparations underway to reach RTB status. Interconnection with Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) is scheduled for July 2028. Once operational, the system will enhance grid stability and support the integration of renewable energy sources in the region.

Development

The project is being advanced as a combined development and acquisition initiative. RETRY has been engaged to support the permitting process and ensure regulatory compliance. As part of the environmental mitigation measures, noise barriers will be installed to minimize the impact on surrounding areas. Ongoing efforts are focused on securing all necessary approvals and advancing the project toward Ready-to-Build status.
